Despite a slow sales start, Apple’s wireless carrier in China has high expectations for the iPhone, with the company anticipating the handset will carry 10 percent of China’s 3G users within three years.

Apple is set to launch the iPhone in South Korea this month after earning approval from the nation’s telecommunications director Wednesday; and talks with carrier China Mobile remain ongoing.

Despite a slow start in official handset sales, the iPhone has found success in China with customers flocking to the App Store, even with the device’s lack of Wi-Fi.

It is almost impossible to overstate China’s importance for snow leopard conservation.

With only 5,000 new iPhone customers signed up at launch, Apple’s official debut in China has been viewed as a disappointment. But one Wall Street analyst still believes the handset will still sell 36 million globally in 2010.

Apple employees are reportedly taking numerous trips to manufacturing plants in China, including some scheduled during the upcoming holiday season, as the company’s long-rumored tablet comes closer to reality.

Apple’s iPhone and iPods use so much NAND flash memory that there is a worldwide dearth of memory chips; and negotiations with China Mobile for the iPhone are ongoing.
